Day 21: Bing Bang Lloyd

Today is the last full day at my home stay. It’s bittersweet. On one hand I’m excited to go to the Gobi Dessert and then go home and see my family. On the other hand I love this simple life style in this beautiful land. I can’t get enough of it. As I said before bittersweet.

Anyway I again slept with my host sister. She wasn’t as cuddly she just took up a lot of the space. Also she slept in this morning so I did too. For the first time in forever... Oh they love Frozen, yesterday they were saying how one of them is Elsa and one is Anna and I’m Moana. Yay. Once I changed and brushed my teeth and stuff, I braided their hair. I practiced my French braiding on them. I’m happy to say it looks decent. After that I went to the cooking yurt and helped peel and cut potatoes. Compared to the mother though I was a snail. She was like bing band Lloyd and it was peeled and sliced. I took much longer. But it was nice to help. Once I finished that I worked on my bracelet and finished! It looks really good too. For a first try/test run.

I spent some time reading and having my alone time, when they told me to get on long pants and riding boots. We drove to another yurt and they saddled up a horse for me to ride. The dad pulled me along so it wasn’t fully riding but honestly I was perfectly fine with that, because it was really considerate of them to drive to another yurt just so I could ride a horse. And one of the girls was very sweet to take pictures of me on the horse. She got really into the photo taking too it was funny.

After the horse we went back to the yurt and played some volleyball and moved the chickens hole closer to the yurt. For dinner we ate some kind of animal. I decided not to ask so I didn’t get disgusted. After eating we played volleyball but the girls had to go do something so the brother, wife and I played some badminton. I am better than the girls but compared to anyone one else I’m horrible. I kept missing my back hands. Probably would’ve done better if I was wearing my glasses. Oh well. It was really fun though. And the weather was great. I think I’ve bonded pretty well with the wife and brother. Although I still don’t know their names. But I also wasn’t told and it’s a bit late to ask. That’s okay though, I remember them as a person and stuff.

Anyway once it was dark we all went into the cooking yurt and they were talking and eating some late dinner. I had some. It was sweet rice and milk. Reminded me of the sweet pasta/rice thing Danny made for us but runnier. It was still good, but filling. Unfortunately I have to tell them I’m not hungry a lot since they eat A LOT. Cooper you would be a god here. Anyway I didn’t want to say no to this so I ate dinner at 9:30pm. After that we went to set up the beds and stuff. It’s not even 10pm and I’m so tired. I feel like a child.

Overall today was a great last day and this was a wonderful experience. I’m really happy I got to experience this but I think a week is long enough here. It’s a lot harder since I understand nothing so I’ve been mostly mute this week. But it was really fun and I strongly suggest it to anybody whose adventurous.
