Day 19: The Day I saw a sheep’s head

This morning I woke up to a screaming baby. The girl I was sleeping with was also a blanket hog so I also woke up cold. Despite the rough wake up, I was still excited because today is our group get together. The whole Experiment group is going to the lake to swim. Finally. For breakfast we have mutton. I walk in and right there is a sheep head. No body just the head. Not the skull, no the head, with eyes and skin and everything. Internal thoughts Ahhh. Outward expression, smile. I still ate the sheep though. Finally we started the drive to base camp. Once wall meet up and go crazy. I think it’s being out of contact with English speakers we’re a bit crazed. We all talked about our homestays and they were all surprisingly different. It was really nice to see them though. We all talked so much.

We went down to the lake and it was cloudy. We are a cursed group. Every day has been sunny and great and the one day we go out to swim it’s cold and cloudy. The lake was freezing and we got out pretty quickly. We talked a lot though. After the lake we got some snacks and went back to base camp. We talked about our peak, valleys and goals. My peak was the small moments that reminded me of home, showing that despite the huge difference in living style and culture the small things are still the same.

After the talk and washing our hair, we all went back to our home stays. It was really calm when I got there. People were napping and stuff. When I got back, I taught them how to play spot it. They loved it and the sister in law and brother played too. We only played a few rounds before lunch. We had fried noodles and meat. Maybe the head. Tried not to think about it. Anyway after lunch we went back to the hang out yurt and I showed them pictures and videos of my friends and family. They liked them a lot. They said Sydney is very pretty. And I showed them the video of me taking down Luke and they thought it was hilarious. After pictures we all painted our nails. Without top cost it’s a bit tricky but I did it. I ended up smudging it off and now I’m in desperate need of a nail salon run with Sydney when I get home. Anyway, after nails, we all set up for bed and went to bed
